10 - 737 CACHE (GC19B2G)

So I have been looking at this cache for a while but I just haven't taken the time to figure out the clues to find it.  Today I had a little free time and decided to figure it out.  Once I started it didn't take long to solve the puzzle and figure it out.

The boys and I went out to find it.  At first I wasn't sure because it's right next to a busy road, but the cache is pretty far off the road so it was safe, even for Oliver.  My GPS was no help it was bouncing all over the place but the nice pile of rocks made it easy to find.

After we found the cache the boys wanted to take some pictures with the wooden fish and fisherman.

JD's Cache (GC1PH66)

This cache is access the street from rest of the park.  There are some great nature trails through out the park.  We walked for about a mile or so before finding the right trail to take us to this cache.

Everything inside was soaking wet so the boys didn't get to take anything but we had fun.  We saw a woodpecker on the walk and lots of ducks.

Puppet Puzzle (GC1R6F8)

The boys and I headed to Spanaway Park to enjoy the sunny day and find a few geocaches.  We started with this great puzzle.  See if you know the number...
There is a number with an interesting property:

When divided by 2, the remainder is 1.
When divided by 3, the remainder is 2.
When divided by 4, the remainder is 3.
When divided by 5, the remainder is 4.
When divided by 6, the remainder is 5.
When divided by 7, the remainder is 6.
When divided by 8, the remainder is 7.
When divided by 9, the remainder is 8.
When divided by 10, the remainder is 9.

Answer is ABCD

N47 07.AAB
W122 26.(D-C) (A+B) (A+B+C)
It didn't take me long to do the math and find the right number.  So Superman (Oliver), Indian Jones (Ethan), and I head out to find it.  We found the cache with no problem.  I'm not sure why but the cache container was full of socks, not used socks but just pairs of new socks.  We didn't take any but we had fun none the less.

Nick Nolte's Private Diary (GC333)

I picked the boys up from daycare and got an phone call from my wife, Julie, saying she was coming home early and would be home by the time I got home with the boys.  This is great news since usually she works until 8pm on Wednesdays.

Since it was so nice out we decided to head up to Nolte State Park.  I wasn't sure if there was a geocache in the park but Julie had been talking about going to the park just to walk around so I figured that's what the iPhone is for I can just look it up when we get there.

After the boys played at the park playground we started walking around the loop.  We didn't make it far before the boys were done looking for the geocache and ready to go play.  Since Julie was getting cold in the woods she took the boys back to the playground while I finished finding the cache.  It didn't take me long and by the time I got back to the playground Julie was freezing and ready to go.  I found a baseball in the geocache so I gave it to the boys.  They had fun playing with it on the way back to the car.

Nostalgia Cache (GC240QH)

While I hate daylight saving for making me get up an hour earlier I do love having more daylight when I get home.  I took the whole family out for a nice walk and a quick cache along the river before dinner.  The boys didn't enjoy the walk as much as they did throwing rock in the river.

After we found the geocache we hung out along the river and I showing the boys how to skip rocks.  Oliver keep picking up the biggest rock he could carry and then wondered why it wouldn't skip.  Ethan kind of figured it out but I think he only got one or two rocks to actually skip.

Berm Hill (GCZYAA)

My mom and dad took Ethan for the night, so Julie and I took Oliver out for some fun.  We started by taking him to Cabela's in Lacey, he loves all the animals.  After that we decided to fine a geocache in the area.  I had a geocoin I had to drop off so I figured why not by Cabela's.  This was a fun little hind, even if no one wanted to go with me.  It was at the top of a little hill with a pretty steep drop off on the other side.  It's not the best picture but here is the view from the top of the hill.

Ring a Ding Ding (GC23XTC)

The boys and I stopped by trying to make a quick find.  I assumed the cache container had to be in / on the phone booth so I didn't really look anywhere else.  There were lots of cars using the gas pumps so I only had a few minutes before I would draw too much attention.  I couldn't make the quick grab so I will have to try another day.

I gave in and emailed a buddy, who had already found it, for a clue.  Now that I have a little more information I should be able to find it next time.

UPDATE: March 28, 2010

I finally had a chance to go back looking for this one.  Since it was raining I didn't think I would have to worry about to many muggles running around.  I would have never guess this gas station would be so busy.  I have tried to stop by here 4 different times and there are always cars there.  The funny thing is half of the cars aren't getting gas they are just sitting there.

Even today in the rain someone was just sitting there. I finally just said oh well I'm going for it. It only took me a few minutes to make the find and get out of there. I still have to wonder why so many people just hang out at this gas station?

Trinity's calling (GC248ME)

Just a quick find after picking the boys up from Daycare.  This geocache is at the world famous Wally's Drive-In .  The boys love this place, this cache is just a quick drive up for the drive-in the boys didn't even unbuckle.

DNC Micro Cache - McRoad (GC22Z1G)

Julie has to work until 8pm today so after dinner the boys and I head out for a quick geocache.  This one is just down the road from my house.  Luckily we could park right next to the cache because the road was way to busy to let the boys out of the car.  I was able to quickly grab the cache and bring it back to the car so the boys could see it.

Treat Yourself (GC230QE)

After nap time the boy and I decided to go out for a treat.  This was the perfect geocache.  It's right next to Indulge Cupcakes a great little business in Sumner that has delicious cupcake treats.  The boys each had a orange dreamsicle cupcake that was 3 times as big as their mouths.  Then we made a quick find to grab the cache and get some treasures.

Rats, Winter Break Is Over! (Final) (GC22HAW)

Now that I had all three clues I could finish the equation to find the final cache.  In the cache description it said the container was an ammo box.  So I told the boys to look for an ammo box thinking it was a larger container and it should be easy for them to find.

At first I thought I must have calculated the coordinates wrong.  I was about to go back to the car and double check my math when I looked at the container size and saw it was listed at unknown.  The only reason someone would list an ammo box as unknown is if it was a trick.

So now with a better idea what I was looking for it didn't take me long to find the container.  It was an ammo box just not one that could hold ammo.  It's kind of hard to see but Oliver is holding it in his hands.  Here is a better picture showing the scale of the ammo box.

Trails along the rivers. (GC17881)

Since we were already down by the river for the last cache we only had to walk about 600 feet further down trail to find this one too.

This was a larger cache so the boys we ready to find it and see if they could get any more treasure.  unfortunately, the container was pretty water logged and all the toys were soaked.  The log book was in a zip lock bag so it was dry but it was the only thing that was.

Hooray! It's Winter Break! (GC2258E)

Today was absolutely beautiful.  These are the types of days that make me love living in the Northwest.  Not to hot not to cold but truly prefect.  Since Julie had to work today and the boys and I decided to go geocaching.

There is a series of caches that have clues to the final cache.  I had already found 2 of the 3 but I need this one in order to complete the equation.  The boys and I head down to Sumner to find it.

It didn't take but a few minutes of looking to find the cache and get the clue.  The boys found some toys which is always their favorite part.
