Twixt Park and Frolic (GC1FZMN)

I don't know if it's just those crazy folks in Oregon or if it's just bad luck.  This cache is a 1.5/2 which shouldn't be to hard but we couldn't find it.  We looked for a while and the moved on to find another one.  I really wanted to give my nephew a few easy finds to get him use to Geocaching.

Hippy's Bathtub (GCEF5C)

This was suppose to be my first Geocache in Oregon.  I didn't really care which cache was my first I just wanted to find one.  So my brother-in-law, Mark "14Grim", took my nephew out to find a cache.  Mark thought he knew where there was a Geocache near this cool old bridge he had found while hunting.  We drove out there and found there was no cache but this one was the closest to the bridge.

Since it is listed as a 1/1 cache I figured it would be a nice easy first find for them.  Unfortunately, this cache is not a 1/1, it might have been at one time but from reading the logs it looks like someone cut down about half a dozen tree and blocked the trail.  We made our way around the trees and hunted for about an hour before calling it a DNF.  I guess their first cache hunt ever and my first in Oregon didn't go so well.

Knot!!! (GC290A7)

Our second DNF for the day.  This one was confirmed missing by the cache owner later that day.  If they replace it I would have to come back and find it.

Mullenix Fire Station P&R (GC22VEP)

This was our first DNF of the day, I'm pretty sure it's gone. The area where the cache was suppose to be had recently been hit by a car and it looks like the sign where I think the cache was hidden has been replaced.

Explorer's Hideout (GC118TR)

I'm pretty sure this cache has gone missing.  Dad and I looked for 45 minutes with no luck.  It was in a great location but you can see where there are lots of trails in the area from school kids cutting across the field.

Skystone (GCMY5Z)

On the way home from our bike ride Ethan and I stopped to buy some ice cream. Ethan said he wanted to find about cache so I knew the skystone cache was on the way home.
We stopped and easily found the Skystone rock. For more information on the Skystone check out this Skystone Article.

Right by the rock is a nice little neighborhood park for the kids. So Ethan would help for a little look for a little while then he would go play. We looked for awhile and then ran into another geocaching family looking for the cache.

We looked and looked but we couldn't find the cache. I am pretty sure it's gone. No one has found the cache in a while. I contacted the cache owner if they confirm it's still there we will go back and look for it again.

Home Sweet Home (GC1F4R4)

After the [Longbranch Trail] we were off to Home Sweet Home. This one was at a park so my Mom and the boys went to play on the toys while Dad and I went looking for the Cache. The hint was "If you were a bird, where would your home be?" So we knew it had to be in the tree.

Dad when looking...

After looking high and low. We decided this one was "muggled" taken by someone. We reported it to the cache owner and moved on to the next one.
